Not sure when this first appeared on the web, but picked this up a bit ago from a tweet by @tosumitgupta.
Timeout.com released a list of their top 50 animated films of all time, featuring pithy reviews and periodic commentary by Terry Gilliam, Monty Python alum and one of my favorite filmmakers (See Brazil, Time Bandits, not to mention all your favorite Monty Python movies).
Here’s a link to the first page of the list.
And here’s a taste of what Gilliam has to say. This bit is about Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut:
“These are my children! They’re brilliant. With the film, I was convinced they couldn’t pull it off because I just didn’t think it would sustain for 90 minutes. But of course it does, and it’s just brilliant. They’ve been able to maintain their outrageousness, their awfulness. They’re uncompromising, that’s why I love them.”
