An Honest Truck…

Posted by Dave Mark on Nov 5, 2009 in Business, Honest Tea

My esteemed coauthor, Jeff LaMarche, made his way to New York City today to give a short iPhone development class at the SoHo Apple Store. He’ll be there starting at 6p Thursday night, so if you do read this on time, please do stop in and say hello.

Anyway, on the way over to the Apple Store, he snapped this picture:

For folks who don’t know, Deneen and I were fortunate enough to invest in Honest Tea back when it was very tiny. And now the company has a fleet of custom trucks. How cool is that? What I find the most amazing about the company is that even though they’ve gotten so large, their commitment to social responsibility remains unabated. Great group of people who continue to do everything they can to make the world a better place. You can read about them here. Be sure to check out the community link in the menu at the top.

Proud? You bet! :)

Honest Tea TeaEO at the White House…

Posted by Dave Mark on Jan 29, 2009 in Honest Tea, Personal, Politics

An update to my post about President Obama keeping Honest Tea in the white house fridge.

The CEO…err…TeaEO of Honest Tea, Seth Goldman, sent me a link to this picture:

That’s Seth on the left, shaking hands with the President. Seth has a big tea-drinkin’ grin on his face. I would too, I suppose.

Here’s a link to the original picture. Very cool! :)

Honest Tea in the White House…

Posted by Dave Mark on Jan 28, 2009 in Honest Tea, Politics

I was lucky enough to invest in the first round of financing for a little-known, local tea company named Honest Tea. At the time, they were making tea in an apartment. They’ve grown tremendously and, last year, Cocoa-Cola bought a 40% stake in the company. Now they’ve really hit the big time.

A few minutes ago, my sister Lori sent me this article (from Thursday’s New York Times). The important paragraph:

Mr. Obama has also maintained the longstanding presidential tradition of weekly lunches with his vice president. For Mr. Obama, lunch generally means a cheeseburger, chicken or fish in his small dining room off the Oval Office. There is also a new addition to White House cuisine: the refrigerators are stocked with the president’s favorite organic brew, Honest Tea, in Mr. Obama’s preferred flavors of Black Forest Berry and Green Dragon.

Cool, right? :)
