Amazon’s new Kindle iPhone app…
This is great! Amazon has released a new Kindle iPhone app. Here’s the link.
The Kindle iPhone app lets you download all your Kindle books on your iPhone and iPod Touch and let’s you read any of those books. Not as elegant a reading experience as you might find on the Kindle itself, but plenty readable. And the Kindle app even takes you to the same page you were on in your Kindle. Very cool!
Here’s my Kindle app in action, reading Michael Palin’s latest, The Monty Python Diaries:

Even better, you don’t even need to own a Kindle to purchase Kindle books. You just need an Amazon account.
Very cool!

Would you blog, seperately a review of the kindle iPhone app – ’cause I don’t want to buy a new device right now, especially one that would only get a once or twice a week work-out. But buying an app and then having a spare book on my iPhone, well, that’s got my attention.
Gah. I spelled separately wrong in my previous comment. That cannot go without an errata sheet. We apologize for the fault in the above comment. Those responsible have been sacked.
Stu,
The app is pretty simple. Open it up, it gives you a list of your purchased books. Click on them to read them, setting to change font size. Change pages by flicking left or right. I think the Kindle app is an excellent training wheels for the Kindle. The only investment is the purchase of a single Kindle book.
If you do buy a Kindle-less Kindle book, please do comment on your experience…

Thanks! It’s definitely something to think about – iPhone is with me 24/7, and if all of my current apps are boring me, to have a handy book to continue reading is a great alternative. And even if you don’t want to read an entire book on the iPhone, there are almost 4,000 volumes of poetry available through kindle/amazon downloads. So it’s a real thought. Thanks again!!
